Chapter 16: Xu Yanyan's home

With Xu Yanyan stepping forward, Linze naturally wouldn't be stopped by security.

Seeing Xu Yanyan helping Linze to get out of the situation, after scratching his head and very professionally saying an apology towards Linze, the security manager left the area with the other security guard.

The current Xu Yanyan had already arrived right before Linze.

「Big brother Linze, how come you're over here?」

Xu Yanyan questioned.

「Ah, about that.......」

Linze currently had no idea how much she had heard about his conversation held with the security manager.

Assuming that she had heard a huge portion of the conversation, Linze thought that it clearly would be a no-go to be looking for other excuses at this instance.

「Actually, I'm worried that you'll be lonely after Linling was gone, which is why I specially came over to see if you'll be lacking any friends at school today.」

Linze could only go along with the excuse he had earlier said to the security manager, explaining as such towards Xu Yanyan.

「Then why Big brother Linze won't ask me directly about it. And why won't you accept my dinner invitation too.」

「For these kind of social relation issues, rather than directly asking about it, I still think that it's most reliable to be seeing it personally with my own eyes. As for the dinner invitation, I still didn't want to disturb onto your studying, as【Dulwich】's education stressload shouldn't be little at all.」

Whilst speaking, Linze subconsciously had his eyes averted towards another side.

「Thanks Big brother Linze for your concern, but【Dulwich】's education stressload isn't much at all.」

「I see. Since I know that you have quite a number of friends, I'll be able to feel relieved already. Next I won't be disturbing you anymore, I'm going home.」

As he spoke, Linze intended to quickly flee.

But Xu Yanyan immediately called out to Linze.

「Big brother Linze, if you don't mind, can you come to my house to have dinner. .......Umm about that, there's probably a couple of unhealthy takeaways to eat if Big brother Linze goes home right now. Actually, I have no other intentions to it, I just only want to express my thanks to Big brother Linze.」

「Go to your house to have dinner? You'll be making it?」

Linze suddenly had no idea why he would be asking such a foolish question.

「Forget it, I don't want to overly trouble........」

「Is there a problem, anyway I've always went to Big brother Linze's house for dinner as well. If Big brother Linze is to reject me, then next time I'll be embarrassed to go to Big brother Linze's house for dinner.」

As Xu Yanyan had already said up to this extent, it made Linze unable to reject her easily.

Thinking about it, Linze felt that it was a good opportunity too, for he had never went to Xu Yanyan's home before. Who knows, he might be able to find some clues as to why Xu Yanyan would choose to kill him at her house.

Furthermore, her mother was at home too, and as long as it wasn't just the both of them alone, Linze would somewhat feel to be a little safer.

To tell the truth, Linze currently still was a little fearful of Xu Yanyan, right from the depths of his heart.

It's impossible for a normal person to not be afraid, as this seemingly innocuous middle-schooler once had him stabbed.

Afterwards, under Xu Yanyan's lead, Linze followed her entering the estate region.

To be honest, it wasn't that Linze hadn't went to any estate areas in the past, but for one like this which had its landscape being taken care of that well, it's still a first being seen by him.

Plus, the interior of the estate region was extremely clean. The two sides of the pathway, even going that far if it was just a piece of fallen leaf, had been cleanly swept.

Under the lead of Xu Yanyan, Linze was brought before an extremely huge estate.

Just by looking at its exterior, Linze felt that this estate was already bigger than his house by numerous times.

At this luxurious area which was close to the center of the city, for such a humongous estate, one can already imagine what kind of sky-high prices the entire building would have commanded.

Even if house properties were to massively fall, Linze felt that even if he was to work normally for his entire life, he wouldn't be able to earn out half of this building.

Trailing Xu Yanyan, Linze walked towards that estate's main entrance onto a doormat laid outside, followed by him asking a sentence that's obviously nonsensical.

「This is your home?」

「Mmh, yes, Big brother Linze.」

As she said, Xu Yanyan pressed her right thumb on the fingerprint scanner in the door handle, opening the door afterwards.

Upon hearing the door being opened, a woman's voice floated from inside of the house.

「You're back, my sweetheart.」

Xu Yanyan upon hearing that voice had her face immediately reddened.

「Mummy, how many times have I told you already, just call me Yanyan. I've brought a guest back home for dinner today, please prepare another set of utensils.」

「A guest?」

Hearing Xu Yanyan saying as such, an apron-donning lady immediately went right up to the porch entrance.

She was roughly around 30 years old, but with her appearance maintained extremely well, she appeared to be around 20 plus instead.

Her eyes were slightly similar to Xu Yanyan's.

Perhaps Linze wouldn't need this lady to carry out an introduction, for he seemingly had guessed on her being Xu Yanyan's mother.

Upon seeing her daughter bringing a boy back, that mother evidently became a little surprised.

「Good evening, sorry for troubling you.」

Linze said towards Xu Yanyan's mother.

Suddenly, Xu Yanyan's mom seemed to have remembered about something, as she opened up her mouth saying towards Linze.

「It can't be that you're Linze?」

Hearing Xu Yanyan's mother calling out his name, Linze frankly was a little surprised.

「You know me?」

Linze asked Xu Yanyan's mother.

「To be saying that I know you, I actually didn't know about you; but to say that I didn't know you, I'm considered to have been acquainted with you. I've heard my daughter mentioning plenty of times about your heroic deeds during dinner in the past, it seemed that you're always never hesitating to do what's right back then........」

「That's enough, Mummy. Hurry up and go prepare dinner.」

Xu Yanyan suddenly had her face extremely red. Without even bothering about taking her shoes off by the porch, she instantly stretched out her hands to push her mother.

「Really, this child.」

In a moment's time, Xu Yanyan had pushed her mother away.

「I'll be going to prepare dinner then, since there's such an『important』guest coming over today. Looks like I'll be needing to cook red rice already.」

「Enough, Mummy.」

Xu Yanyan loudly gave a grimace towards her mother.
