Chapter 20: Change of plans

Through Linze's patient explaining, and facing against numerous evidences, the two middle-schoolers surrounding Linze very quickly realized that Linze was indeed Linling's elder brother.

「Really very sorry about it.」

The two middle-schoolers apologized towards Linze.

「Forget it, as Linling's elder brother, I didn't have any intentions of blaming you guys at all. To be frank, I instead have a great impression on you two, knowing that Linling have such schoolmates like the both of you, I'm much more relieved already.」

Linze said towards the both of them.

Hearing Linze to be in such praise of them like that, they both seemed to be a little shy.

「Speaking of which, what are your names, if you guys don't mind, let's be acquainted with each other.」

Linze continued saying towards them.

「Sure of course, my name is Yuanshen.」

That handsome middle-schooler who made the ball kick towards Linze earlier introduced himself.

「As for my name, it's Huang Huiju.」

The other middle-schooler too introduced himself to Linze.

「I see, it's my delight on being acquainted with you two. I'll introduce myself as well then, my name's Linze.」

As Linze spoke, he stretched out his right hand to feel his left forearm.

「Yuanshen, you probably are specially trained in soccer, right. The accuracy of the ball kick is extremely good, plus the strength isn't bad either, the soccer ball that's kicked out is just like a cannonball.」

Yuanshen hadn't yet opened out his mouth when Huang Huiju on the other side took up on the conversation, saying.

「But of course, Yuanshen is the current captain of our school soccer team. Handsome as well, excelling at sports, scoring good grades, along with a cheerful personality too......」

Hearing Huang Huiju crazily praising him as such, Yuanshen immediately stopped Huang Huiju.

「Enough, it'll be too much if you continue saying.」

It seemed like Yuanshen didn't want to continue onto that topic anymore, he posed a question towards Linze.

「Linze, since you're Linling's elder brother, as well as being acquainted with Xu Yanyan, why are you acting so suspiciously yesterday and today.」

「Actually, I'm only worried that Xu Yanyan will be lonely after Linling's departure, hence I wanted to come over to observe for awhile. About this matter, I didn't want to carry it out that openly.」

Linze nonchalantly said out the lie that he had long ago thought up of.

Just when the three of them - Linze, Yuanshen and Huang Huiju were involved in a misunderstanding,【Dulwich】too had already reached its school dismissal timing, and after the ringing of the after-school bell that was comprised out of music, the gates of the school opened.

Seemingly just at that very same moment, the phone in Linze's pocket shook, while at the same time resounding out his phone's ringtone.

Knowing that someone had given him a call, the current Linze immediately took out his phone.

On the screen of his phone, the indicated person calling him appeared to be Xu Yanyan.

After a slight hesitation, Linze chose to pick up the call.

From the other end of the phone, Xu Yanyan's voice resounded through.

「Is this Big brother Linze?」

「It's me, what's the matter?」

Linze questioned.

「About that promise made yesterday after school......」

After being given a reminder as such by Xu Yanyan, Linze instantly recalled about some of the matter thrown to the back of his head from yesterday.

If he hadn't remembered it wrongly, it seemed that yesterday he had promised Xu Yanyan on giving a reply to her today.

The contents of the reply was about the matter whether should Xu Yanyan go to his house to make dinner for him.

To tell the truth, the attitude Linze had towards Xu Yanyan currently was extremely subtle, and if it's possible, he wouldn't want to have Xu Yanyan going to his house.

Just by thinking that he and only Xu Yanyan are to be inside of his house, Linze felt that his entire body had become a little shivery already.

Linze just thought of wanting to open up his mouth to reject her, but stopped himself when those words came right up to his mouth.

According to Linze's intentions, he should be acting in a role of a sender, and it's his aim to safely send Xu Yanyan back home.

As under the assumption that Xu Yanyan will be stabbing him to death tomorrow, if there wasn't any incident occurring yesterday, then it would be happening today.

Plus Linze believed that the timing in which it will most likely happen would be after school.

Then the most ideal way of investigating it naturally would be to secretly tail her, that way, it would then clearly find out about the whole situation from start to finish.

Due to him currently still in a situation where he's surrounded by two of Xu Yanyan's schoolmates, he of course was able to reject Xu Yanyan from going to his house.

But the problem that came afterwards made Linze troubled.

Evidently, a couple of Xu Yanyan's schoolmates had already noticed him. Other than Yuanshen and Huang Huiju in front of him, perhaps there might be other schoolmates of Xu Yanyan already targeting him.

If he continues to tail her, Linze felt that it would be difficult to not have any other mishaps occurring.

Perhaps there would be other middle-schoolers jumping out as well, causing him problems due to stalking Xu Yanyan.

Since that's the case, Linze felt that the tailing afterwards probably couldn't be the most suited plan anymore.

After continuing to consider on its gains and losses, Linze opened his mouth and spoke.

「I'll be troubling you for my dinner today then. Right now I'm by the gates of the school you're at, I've already specially come to pick you up. We can go to the supermarket or the wet market to buy the food ingredients together. Of course, if you have a higher load of homework today, this suggestion of mine can be forfeited as well. Your education is most important after all.」

Linze felt that since the tailing couldn't be possible, he may as well use up more of Xu Yanyan's time.

That way, perhaps he could instead probe out any such information.

「Eeh......Linze, you're already at the entrance of my school huh, but your high school currently should not have ended yet.」

Xu Yanyan's words seemingly appeared to be a little surprised.

「Letting a lady wait isn't the ways of what a knight would do, plus you're making dinner for my sake tonight. If I'm to especially let you come to my school to wait for me, I'll feel too bad upon myself.」

Linze nonchalantly rubbished out an excuse. He naturally couldn't say that he came to【Dulwich】just to tail Xu Yanyan, since there's still two of Xu Yanyan's schoolmates still standing by his sides staring at him.

「Really, Big brother Linze, you shouldn't be anyhow skipping school.」

「It's just this once, plus, can't it be that I'll want to see you as soon as possible.」

After Linze finished saying that, for a long time, silence permeated the phone from the other side.

「Yanyan, are you still around.」

「Eem........mnh. I, I'll be coming out from class as quickly as possible.」

As she spoke she hung up the call, with Linze currently too immediately keeping his phone and heaving a sigh of relief.

「Perfect, in a moment I'll be meeting up together with Xu Yanyan. If you guys still have any doubts, you can subsequently check onto the authenticity of my words.」

Linze afterwards spoke to the two middle-schoolers right in front of him.

「If I didn't hear it wrongly, it seems that from your tone, it can't be that Xu Yanyan will be personally making dinner for you tonight, right.」

Yuanshen currently frowned his eyebrows as he looked at Linze, looks like his mood had became extremely sour.

「That's right, what's the matter.」

Linze didn't want to hide the matter from the other party.

Hearing Linze saying as such, Yuanshen suddenly stared intensely at Linze's face.

「Is there anything on my face?」

「Nothing, let's go, Huang Huiju.」

Yuanshen currently still had his eyebrows frowned, turning round and leaving afterwards without a second hesitation.

「Wait for me.」

As Huang Huiju spoke, he picked up the soccer ball lying on the ground and left together with Yuanshen.

Seeing those actions of that duo, Linze was a little befuddled.

The three of them was clearly chatting happily earlier, why did it suddenly turn into an unpleasant departure.

Not long after Yuanshen and so had left, Xu Yanyan had already appeared right by【Dulwich】's school gates.

Seeing Xu Yanyan's breathing appearing to be a little hurried, she seemed to have swiftly scurried over here.
